SECURED LOAN A secured loan is a loan for which you have placed collateral as security. Collateral could be money in your savings account, CD, a car title, or other property you own which is of comparable value to the amount you would like to borrow. If approved, ECU would take possession of the collateral either physically or by filing a lien against the property.
